My top 5 Beauty Faves

I’m not a beauty guru or beauty youtuber but I definitely enjoy playing with makeup and finding amazing skincare products – that make me feel and look my best! I have some beauty gurus that I really enjoy learning from too! I will share some of my faves below…

Since we have been in self isolation, in the beginning I definitely took advantage of not doing my hair or makeup (in the beginning), it was nice to just let go and I think the break has been good for my body. But there are definitely days when I miss the ritual of applying my morning makeup or getting ready for a special date night….. So I have been playing with makeup again – it helps distinguish between day and night (lol) Getting ready in the morning with a quick 5 minute face before a zoom meeting feels ‘normal’ and taking some extra time to get ‘unready’ before bed is a relaxing ritual and was something I didn’t realize I would miss. So starting up these small routines has been welcome and I feel a bit more like myself (even though life is so different now).

My Beauty faves (right now)

So I definitely have been making my skin a priority – I will have to share my faves with you in another post. After I cleanse and moisturize – I start with my brows. I have a basic shape but they need filling in! I love this pencil and brush duo and taupe is a perfect shade

With a simple stay at home makeup look – I haven’t been using eye shadow (which is a product I love) but I all about keeping it simple. Next is lashes, I used to get lash extensions but I have been taking a break for the past 6 months. So I have been rocking this mascara it’s one of my faves gives me volume and length.

I have never been a full coverage foundation kind of girl (unless I out for a very special occasion) – I really prefer something lighter and just something I can use to even out skin tone (I often get a touch of redness around the nose and of course some darkness under the eyes). I use a touch of concealer just to even things out and this one is my absolute favourite – I wear shade 50NN – the shade range is very wide!

I always like to look a bit sun-kissed it adds life to my face! So I always add a touch of bronzer – and this drug store find is my favourite bronzer!

One of my absolute beauty musts is blush – I just love what a splash of colour can do! I am personally draw to peach tones and this one I received through IPSY (a monthly makeup subscription) and I have discovered some great beauty finds though this service! This is one of those discoveries – I love the the tone of this blush

When it comes to lip colour , for the day to day- I personally prefer something subtle. For an evening out I either like a true glossy nude or a bolder tone, but for the day I love a nude-pink like this one from Lòreal (Colour is rosewood)

I definitely miss my monthly manicure I used to get a dip powder manicure and it was such a treat. During our isolation, I soaked it off and i have been giving my nails a bit of a break. I cut them quite short and I have been using this product to strengthen them and make them healthy again.

Check outside

The outside unit can easily get obstructed by debris which will impact how it works. It needs the space around it clear so the air intake can happen unimpeded. There also needs to be space for the hot air to exit.

If the unit is obstructed, then it will cause uneven cooling and your electrical bill will also end up higher.

Does it smell?

Mildew can also build up inside the evaporator coil. This will cause a musty smell when you turn on the unit. It is very common when you turn on the HVAC for the first time that season. Over the time when it isn’t being used, the mildew can build. 

Make sure to clean the evaporator coil and the condenser before you fire it up for the season to get rid of any mildew or mold. Use a mix of a half cup of bleach and a gallon of water and use a rag to clean them off. This will kill the mildew or mold.
