Storage…..when it comes to keeping a busy family organized storage is key! It’s not easy (or necessarily affordable to add closet space) but finding the right baskets can keep your space organized and without Mom and Dad doing all of the work.

Storage Baskets for Kids’ Stuff

I love baskets for kids because it is easy for them to tidy up! You can teaching them how to sort by labeling your baskets (one for trucks, one for LEGO…..can you tell I have 3 boys!) Plus with stylish baskets you can keep a shared space like a living room or family room, clutter free and calm.  I have made a rule that if we run out of room in the baskets – we don’t add baskets, we de-clutter!

Storage with Style

You might think that a storage basket may not work with your decor but there are so many shapes, sizes and styles…..I have sourced a number of different options and they are all on amazon (who doesn’t love online shopping?!)

1 – Large seagrass woven basket

2 – Woven wicker basket with handles

3 – 4 piece cube stripe storage baskets

4 – Large cotton rope stripe basket

5 – Round grey storage basket

6 – Grey linen storage basket

7 – Medium nickel wire basket

8 – Round large wire basket (antique copper)

I also love using baskets for smaller spaces that tend to get disorganized – bathroom vanities (in my home anyway) tend to get messy and fast.  I love small wire baskets for storing various products (shampoo, conditioner etc…).  The wire makes it easy to see what’s inside and if there’s a spill – it’s so easy to clean.

I also love to use baskets to keep my pantry organized. Mostly for smaller things like spice packages and my coffee pods.

What do you use to keep your space organized?

5-uses-for-trays-and-why-we-love-the

Trays are nothing new.  They aren’t trending and they aren’t usually on any one’s ‘must-get’ list.  But I love trays.  There is something so simple and tidy about them and they can be used in so many rooms.

Trays come in different sizes, colours and materials and I love them all!  They keep items in an organized yet stylish arrangement plus when it comes to cleaning – just move the tray out of the way and clean !

When using a tray as a part of your room’s decor be sure to add some decorative elements like a vase of flowers, candles something so that it just doesn’t look completely functional.

1 – The living room:

I love having a tray on an ottoman or even the chaise of a sectional.  They provide a flat surface for serving up snacks and drinks but they also provide a neat and tidy space for TV remotes and coasters.  But you can also use them as a display area for decor on a coffee table.

2 – The Kitchen:

Not the usual spot for a tray but again they keep the items you need easy access to at arm’s length but without the clutter.  I have one in my kitchen to hold my knife block, salt and pepper, olive oil, a tea towel and other small essentials.

3 – The Bathroom :

A smaller tray would be needed but it saves the same purpose keeping your counter top clean and clutter free.  Depending on the look of your bathroom, you could opt for a mirrored option to add some sparkle and shine!

4 – The dresser:

A tray is a great spot to group items you use everyday together.  So think lotions and potions, jewellery and scarves, make up etc…You could likely opt for a larger tray for on top of the dresser (if you have the surface space).  I also love small dishes (think tea saucers) for small jewellery items.

5 – The Bed:

Breakfast in bed!  Serving space for coffee, fruit, croissant and more…such a wonderful way to wake up someone special!  Do I need to say anything more?

Useful and stylish – the perfect piece to have at home, I love mine!
